No. Unranked only... That will never change. We are not going back to letting users run ranked servers on their own hardware/instance.
a specific mono version is required and you'll need to build it from source, unless you use an older version of ubuntu (not recommended). You'll also need to make changes to the source to properly build with newer versions of build tools... its quite the pain in the ass and I don't know all the steps off the top of my head, only had to do it once or twice.
You're better off downloading the raw image I posted here and pushing it to a VM somewhere. Any good provider would accept it or having access to your own dedicated box would allow you to push it or extract it somewhere. The image can easily be pushed to kvm, xen, or vmware.
The Vultr VPS image is by far the easiest way to get up and running quickly with a cheap $5/month BF2 server. Just paste the link into your account and deploy it...
P.S. Ubuntu is the devil. Better off using debian before that trash, unless you like logging into your server you forgot to update for 2-3 months and realize nothing works anymore because the repos are too far outdated. That or automatic updates that eventually break your applications! CentOS/RedHat is by far superior for long term support.
